Contemporary Family Garden with Japanese Influences
This garden design draws on the Asian themes evident in the 1970’s modernist architecture and remaining original garden planting as well as seeking to connect with the adjacent native bush reserve. A series of level areas provide for easy outdoor living while several mature native trees provide welcome summer shade and an ideal play environment for children.

Simple, honest materials and a mix of native, exotic and productive plants are applied in a deliberate manner, combining to deliver a garden that is strong on style but still essentially human and approachable.

Remnants of the original garden are re-used and printed onto the new design.

A minimalist industrial steel sculpture echoes the clean lines of the structural components in the garden design.

The original outside area had a complicated layering of decks and damp bare slopes.
